Muscle spasm in throat

I know about globus, the lump in the throat feeling, as I've experienced it a number of times.

This time it feels more like all the muscles in my throat area are tight and actually hurt a little, as though I have a slightly sore throat. My tonsils feel swollen. I've been to the Doctor but there's nothing wrong with my throat or tonsils, they're not swollen or red.

Is this caused by anxiety?
I know from past experience that through anxiety my muscles seem to go into spasm. If I hurt my back it can take ages to get better and usually due to my getting so anxious about it.

But I've never experienced a throat problem like this.

Anyone else have anything like this?
