Re: Relapse! Coping, Symptoms and Tips.
Lol, that's just what a few others have said Darksky :D
I've gone throuhh nearly a whole writing pad to communicate. And have to admit there have been a few swear words thrown in, especially when Mr C reads what I've written and still looks at me blankly. Well, I'm only human, lol.
It brought up a memory of my mum when I was discussing stuff with a carer and my mum piped up I can still f ing hear you know" and we all laughed. It was a bit of shock because mum didn't swear outside of the house but at home after a cake had not risen or she spilt some of her dinner on her best blouse and at me.
I don't what caused the loss of my voice, but a bad attack of acid reflux seems more the culprit. I didn't have any other symptoms.
Re: Relapse! Coping, Symptoms and Tips.
Glad to hear that you've got your voice back! It's not until you have problems that you realise how important it is to be able to speak and we all take our vocal cords for granted.
I'm getting over a really painful eye infection and it's great to be able to open my eyes again without pain and to be able to tolerate the sun..Am never going to take my sight for granted again!
Re: Relapse! Coping, Symptoms and Tips.
My mother has always been open to a few choice swear words. She makes me laugh and I tell her she would make a sailor blush.
Acid reflux could well be the culprit. I know on occasion, my sisters voice over the phone sounds like a dodgy phone call but as I said before it’s never totally gone.
Anyway it’s in retreat and that’s all that matters.
Re: Relapse! Coping, Symptoms and Tips.
Glad you’re on the mend too Pulisa :yesyes:
Re: Relapse! Coping, Symptoms and Tips.
Glad you're both on the mend!
Re: Relapse! Coping, Symptoms and Tips.
Sorry to hear about your eye infection Pulisa. Again, one of our vital functions. Hope you fully recover soon. x
Darksky, my mum got to the age where she couldn't give a sh it about her remarks. I'd be going shush, people can hear you and the response was even worse than the original remark, lol. Bless them. I'm beginning to understand as I get older myself.
Thanks catkins. Mr C been speaking on my behalf which is not always what I would say. Luckily people that know me keep reminding him to be careful of the consequences, lol.
Re: Relapse! Coping, Symptoms and Tips.
Thanks all xx
One of the perks of really old age must be being able to speak your mind without a care in the world! Wouldn't it be good if the Queen let rip about The Harkles and the way they have behaved recently!:D
Re: Relapse! Coping, Symptoms and Tips.
It will all come out in some butler or personal assistant's biog Pulisa. :D I'm not remotely interested in their lives, just the cash they use that would be more beneficial elsewhere.
Re: Relapse! Coping, Symptoms and Tips.
Voice fully back :yesyes:
Now got toothache :weep: I really hate going to the dentist. I'll see how it is Monday because there's not much I can do over the weekend.
Re: Relapse! Coping, Symptoms and Tips.
