Re: pb's Health anxiety worries thread
I know that constantly posting my symptoms on here is not helpful, but I panic so much .
I have cancelled my stay with my aunt , as I’m in such a state that I am worried that I won’t be able to cope with my anxiety.
Ive been getting bad pains in my hip and groin on the right side, I know I’ve had this lots of times, but my mind always goes to appendicitis.
The doctor on Friday, said that that there is a difference to the perceived pain I think I’m in and the actual pain I have.
I know I’ve got a plan now with the medication and psychiatrist, but if I’m honest I’m terrified of starting the pregablin.
I even had some chest pain and was thinking if I had a heart attack this would all be over, I have no peace.

I know it's tough, but you really need to start learning to dismiss these negative thoughts. Thoughts are all they are - they can't hurt you.

I know, I’ve been for a short walk and got a decaf coffee.
I know focusing on pain makes it worse.
I think I might try to find a film to watch and finish my washing , as I’ve nearly caught up x

Re: pb's Health anxiety worries thread
It's absolutely brilliant, it's like a modern setting Agatha Christie. Really funny, really clever and with one of the best endings I've ever seen.

Actually...if you tell your pain to do its worst it's often quite helpful. If you had a fatal heart attack you wouldn't have anxiety any more. Not caring is a great anxiety buster xx

Re: pb's Health anxiety worries thread
Pain all down outside of hip and I feel sick, I can’t be imagining all of this, also my leg hurts a bit.
I just want this all to end. I can’t call drs again, I saw them on Friday afternoon.
I don’t know what’s real and am in despair with all of this.

Did you find a film to watch?

Re: pb's Health anxiety worries thread
Pro tip: In that case, put on something you enjoy that you've seen before. That way it won't matter if you miss bits when you're stressing.

Re: pb's Health anxiety worries thread
Groin pain now, what is happening to me..

Re: pb's Health anxiety worries thread
I think you'll find you're obsessing. What good does it to to write your bodily sensations here?

I know it doesn’t help, but it’s bad and I’m scared. The fact that the pain moves, should tell me something.
Feeling sick as well, dr said I might have kidney stones, causing pain in groin.
Im having another scan for this and the only treatment at the moment is pain killers. I also know repeated tests is feeding into my HA.

Re: Ear, tooth and jaw pain
The same thing is happening to you as always.
Try and acknowledge it but then move on from it to something more interesting or diverting.

I know there is a pattern to my posts and pain, but the pain is real.
Im so scared all the time.
Its hard to accept anxiety could cause all this.
I find it very hard to divert my anxiety, earlier I had hip pain that went after a walk, but now groin pain.

Re: pb's Health anxiety worries thread
Don't you get bored with writing the same thing over and over?
We know you're scared and in pain. Repeating it to yourself constantly will only make it worse, though.
You're receiving medical attention; the team helping you will sort it all out. In the meantime, you need to find a new routine.

Yes I know, this is no life. I’m sorry that I post so much and repeat myself.
I might go for another short walk.

Re: pb's Health anxiety worries thread
Boredom just feeds HA. Your days must seem very long without anything to do other than concentrate on your many perceived illnesses.
So your GP has referred you for more tests...? Does she not understand HA at all? Or is this what you feel most comfortable with? Tests and more tests...? It's a sad way to pass your time.

Pulisa is totally right on this, pb. You need some hobbies. You know that poster I mentioned earlier with 800 reply thread...she's got no hobbies. I've asked her before. Besides working and seeing to the family, posting symptoms on these forums is all she does. You've agreed you don't want to end up like that. At some point we all have to move from the "woe is me" mentality to "I'm going to kick anxiety's ass. I'm not going down."

I know more tests do not help. I definitely didn’t ask for more tests, I think it’s because of my urine infection symptoms.
I don’t feel comfortable with tests, that add to my anxiety.

Re: pb's Health anxiety worries thread
So pick something you can start right now. When I went through my horrible bout of anxiety in 2014, I decided to get more into gardening. I had always taken care of the yard, but I didn't really do anything else with it. So I planted some roses and succulents and started from there.
What have you always wanted to try?

I use to enjoy cooking, ive got some apples from my sisters garden, I could attempt an apple pie tomorrow, rather then focusing on my many and changing symptoms.

Re: pb's Health anxiety worries thread
Perfect! And tonight, in preparation, instead of sitting around, watch some cooking videos on youtube.

I've told my GP that I only want tests based on clinical need. Not for a "just in case" scenario. I'm really glad I've done this. I've turned down quite a few tests over the years and am still breathing! Your GP could be described as "cautiously thorough" which doesn't help you at this stage. Any symptom and you're sent for tests/procedures.

Re: pb's Health anxiety worries thread
I've had HA for most of my life, some years worse than others.
Last year it got so bad I couldn't eat and lost a lot of weight - another cause for panic.
What usually helps is a visit to the Dr to get the "all clear". Unfortunately this time I was sent for a lot of unpleasant tests and nasty treatments that were probably unnecessary and made me feel worse. To top it all off it was discovered that I had gallstones and it was decided that I should have my gallbladder removed. Which I did and this resulted in a whole new list of complaints to be anxious about.
In the future, I won't look for trouble!

Re: pb's Health anxiety worries thread
I have started the pregablin today and it has made me feel very tired, also getting muscle spasms in chest, ribs and back and my sternum feels tight, of course I’ve gone to heart attack , although I have had spasms lots of time , but not the sternum symptom
-
Re: pb's Health anxiety worries thread
Well done for starting the pregabalin. All you can do is give it a trial over a period of several weeks at a therapeutic dose. Taking the first tablet is the hardest bit xx

I’m pleased that I’ve started, this morning I just thought I can’t go on like this. Worried about the spasms but really trying to be rational, Ive had lots of tests, I want my life back x

You're taking all the right steps, it'll happen soon enough
