    IBS question

Well i got my letter back from the colonoscopy and it basically said that everything came back normal (it didnt mention the biopsys they took) and that i have an open appointment in case i need to resee him, it didnt mention what it could be.

So what i was wondering does this basically say its IBS as nothing else explains the mucus, little bit of blood and my stomach gurggling? Do i need to speak to my local GP about it? Also i was wondering can the pain from IBS go in to the lower side of your back like just above you hip and also in your side?

    Re: IBS question

Yes IBS can cause the pain in the areas you describe - mine is most commonly in my side and hip region.

The open appointment is so that you can bypass the GP and just ask to be seen again by the consultant I think you will find.

I guess what you need to do now Trevstan is see if there are any particular foods that trigger the IBS and eliminate them from your diet. Also, you need to try and reduce stress (ha, easier said than done I hear you cry!) ........

    Good luck
