Thought I would let you guys know in case anyone has had these.
Last week I posted in the health anxiety forum because I was getting these weird flases of light in the corner of my left eye, like catching lightening in your periphial vision, accompanied with a few floaters. It came on pretty sudden, but there were only 3-4 flashes in the space of a week or so. By the last flash I was worried and posted here. I was so panicked!
Anyway, I calmed myself down and went to the opticians the next day, who booked me in for an appointment today.
She found I have a tear in my left retina, a serious eye condition that can result in permenant blindness if not caught early. Needless to say she phoned the eye clinic straight away and I am having surgery to repair it tomorrow.
I don't want to scare anyone, but please see your eye specialist if you ever get symptoms like this. I very nearly ignored my symptoms and if I had, I could have lost sight completely overnight within a few weeks/months.
Be safe, be cautious, be vigilant with your eye sight!
No doubt I will post tomorrow to let you guys know what surgery is like. Oddly I'm not nervous... Usually I would be climbing the walls with fear, but when it's a case of saving your vision... It seems like the better option!
Muchos love mon amigos...!
