    'Hangover'

    Hi there,

I have had very low doses of Diazepam over the last few weeks (2-4mg) to help with Anxiety and the side effects of starting Citalopram.

I haven't been taking it every day by any means. Last night I took 4mg as I was unable to sleep and I have woken up with a kind of hangover feeling - A heavy head, sleepy and a bit of a headache.

Is this normal? Can you get this on such low doses?! I am pretty sensitive to drugs - even low dose Co-codamol has made me feel spaced in the past!

    Thanks. xxx

how long have you been on citalopram ? it might just be the effects of that rather than the diazapam, however try taking just 2mg if you can't sleep, and then you will be able to judge it.on another note, you will sleep better when the citalopram kicks in. i did. good luck x

    HI there,

    Thanks for your reply!

I have been on the citalopram for 5 weeks now. Three weeks at 10mg and two at 20mg. All other side effects (which there were many!) of that are starting to settle and I think this week I am seeing a more positive me

It's quite hard to say, some people do get a kind of "hangover" effect from diazepam but cit can also make you feel like that in the mornings :-s try not to worry about it, whatever one it is will pass anyway
