It's all gone wrong :(

I quit my job 10 weeks ago & I started a new job 2 days ago i was really excited, but turns out as its only a mat cover job, I wont get fully trained, I dont even have a payroll number.

So Im the temp that they dont really want there, I think someone internally went for it anyway but didnt get it, but I dont know why as shes training me how to do my job, - the same job ive done for 5 years!!!

I dont feel welcomed, wanted or appreciated. its long hours, i get up @ 8am & get home @8:30pm :( its not worth the money

I cant quit another job as I cant expect my partner to pay for eveything.

Just feel rubbish about it all and dont want to go back tomorrow.

Hi. It's been a couple of days since you posted. I hope you feel a little more welcomed and settled in now. What a shame they didn't explain the situation to you before you accepted the job.

It must be worrisome knowing you are going to have to look for another job in a few months. Maybe one will come up where you are. Try to think of it as more experience for on your cv.

Hey Janine,

It's a shame to hear that but perhaps there is a hidden positive: You dislike the job but it is only temporary so you will be able to move on after the mat leave finishes. If you're only temporary you could start looking for another job now and leave before the maternity cover is up if you find something.


I know it's difficult when you're out all day at something you hate but if you focus on the fact it's not permanent it might help you through. Maybe things will get better once you've been there for a while anyway.
