    Effects wearing off

    Hi

I have been on citalopram now for around 3 months in which I have moved from 10mg through to 40mg. I began taking 40mg at the start of the month, and I was also recommended to rinse my mouth with milk of magnesia ( I have annoying symptoms from anxiety such as burining mouth and throat). After two weeks my symptoms totally dissapeared. Stupidly last week I decided to have a cup of tea which I had cut out, and back came my burning mouth and throat. Is caffeine really that bad for anxiety sufferers? I haven't drunk any tea recently so will the effects of citalopram come back, as its been a week and nothing has happened yet?

Caffeine in any form is bad for anxiety. I drink decaffeinated tea.

If you don't feel the citalopram is working for you, then maybe you should see your doctor again.
