    escitalopram for anxiety

    Hi
I have been on escitalopram for 6 weeks now after having a rough few months. It has helped with the panic and anxiety, but after afew weeks I have noticed I am feeling quite low.I have never suffered with depression, and I am worried the tablets are helping with one thing and causing another! Has anyone else experienced this, and if so do things improve? x

    Re: escitalopram for anxiety

I felt a bit like that during the first couple of months. Lots of ups and downs. The ups were great but the downs got me really down and sometimes I felt as though I didn't care about anything. I'm just over 8 weeks at 10mg and am feeling great. My moods have stabilized, anxiety is just about nil and I feel like my old self again... even better, actually. Hopefully this is all that's happening to you and in a little while things will settle down. Great to hear it's working on you anxiety. Hang in a little longer and if your mood doesn't improve, check in with your doctor.
    Take care.
