Reducing from 20mg to 10mg because of side effects??

as i understand it 20mg is the lowest theraputic dose, however a lot of people settle on just 10mg and find it helpfull, why not try cutting a 10 mg in half and try 15mg, remember it does take time to work, and the side effects don't last too long, a couple of weeks or so , i take citalopram, at 25mg at the moment, slowly reducing every 4-5 weeks just 5mg at a time, either way good luck x
