    Ritalin for my add

    Ive been prescribed Ritalin.
    10 mg.*

When I take it this is what happens.
NOTHING. Anxiety, and LESS motivation, MORE laziness.

    Why!????????

Do you have ADHD? This medication is not licensed in the UK for GAD and depression. I know because I enquired about it and was told I would not be prescribed it.
I think the dose you're on is quite low so maybe that explains why it's not having the right effect. Ritalin is a stimulant and has to be taken with great caution. This is why so many doctors will not prescribe it "off label" in the UK because it has great potential for abuse.
Give it time, go back and see your doctor if you're not happy with it. Please let us know how you get on, and best of luck.

Yes I went to a psychiatrist , here in America.
    He said I have ADD.

When I first took it I noticed a little change , I was more organized. But now I feel worse. I don't feel like reading big paragraphs. And I feel anxiety and BLAH feeling :(

Im just wondering why this could be happening?

I started off with 5 mg now I'm on 10 mg.

I'm so worried because I start college in a week and I'm afraid I won't be able to concentrate :(

I think that may be an unusual reaction although stimulants can make people more anxious - it all depends on the individual.
    Please seek proper medical advice.

I don't know how long you've been on Ritalin but maybe you just need to give it more time(I know from my own experience with drugs).
Take care of yourself and good luck with your studies.
