Okay so I have an appointment to see the psychiatrist today here's whats bothering me and what I'm going to tell her..

    - scared tht I'm schizophrenic / crazy
    - scared I will forget how to function
    - scared I will forget who I am
    - the world doesn't seem real
    - everything feels dreamy
    - scared I will forget who my family are
    - scared I will lose touch with reality
    - scared I will lose control (throw myself down the stairs and not be on control of it)
    - sometimes I feel like I want to escape
    - am I at the starting stage of schizophrenia? Where I know but no one else does
    - feel detatched
    - feel like I'm losing my memory/ my brains degrading
    - don't feel like my words coming from my mouth
    - don't feel part of the world
    - feel scared even when I do feel normal
    - body doesn't feel like its mine
    - scared I will lose control of my body
    - I feel like I'm losing myself
    - I feel like I'm living in a bubble
    - I feel like I'm a robot
    - sometimes get my dreams mixed with reality
    - sometimes get scared to move or speak because it doesn't feel like me
    - scared I'm going crazy but no one will know

I'm so scared to tell the psychiatrist all o this because she will just want to lock me awy straight away !!

Hi, First of all seeing your psch is the first step to getting better, as they are specialised in mental health, and can diagnose and treat your problem better than your gp.

i felt the same as you before my 1st appointment, but it really went well, and when i cme out i felt better for getting things out in the open.

i saw him for around 1 year, once a month, and he sorted out my meds, and understood what i ws going through better than anyone else.

Don't be scared, just go in and be yourself, they are there to help you, and no one can make you do anything you don't want too. and they will help you to cope, they will not judge you, and definately won't be thinking you need sectioned.

Good luck, and let us know how you get on xx

I had many of the symptoms you have, but you will not be locked away, you need some help to get better, and that is what she will do for you, you are feeling this way because of your anxiety/depression, and once you get help with that. you will think more clearly.

Please try to think about it as the first step to recovery, no one is going to lok you away or harm you in any way........ keep us posted and good luck xx

    Hi

Think I got myself into a similar state before my appointment.

Like Pink said it was well worth it.

She knew exactly what I was trying to say and she sorted my meds out.

TBH getting the meds right has made such a difference I am so grateful that I was offered the appointment.

Good luck and you will be fine, nothing you have said has made you a case for locking up thats for sure.

    Take care
