If anyone has taken Sertraline, when is the best time to take it and what are the side effects like?

hi cathy, I have been on sertraline for 2weeks now, feeling almost my old self again! the side effects are usually, feeling sick, insomia, dry mouth, and jittery. I found that these only lasted 3/4 days and then they don't seem as bad, now I just feel very hyper when I first get up, but this stops by the afternoon, because they make me hyper first thing I take them before I go to bed, or I think I'd be hyper at night when I want to sleep!
keep possitive and try not to focus on feeling the side effects, or you' ll think very odd feeling is due to the meds and it proberly isn't at all!

my friend takes sertraline and said she never got any side effects from them....she,s been on them years and is never coming off them.she said they stopped her panic attacks completely

Thanks for your positive posts really appriciate it as have been feeling awfull the last couple of days and i know i may need somthing.

Donna I am glad you are still dooing ok on the prozac but as you know I just couldnt take them so that is why I hope the Sertraline help.

Goingbonkers thanks and I just hope if I do take them I have the same effect as you do. What dose did you start on?

you mean what dose did my friend start on? i think it was 50mg...but she went up to 150 if i remember......she tried to come off them but couldnt get any lower than 50mg...so doc said she may as well stay on that dose seeing as its helping....she now has her own florist business and is full of confidence....oh wow...please let us all be like that again!

Oh well I have just took my first dose of sertraline. 50mg.

Do most people take them in the evening as I have just taken mine now. Wish me luck.

i take it first thing in the morning. thats what my doc said to do...

I take mine in the morning too, as instructed by doctor.
