Citalopram - Length of time in bloodstream

Im coming off Citalopram at the moment. I went cold turkey (yes I know, I'm naughty [:I]) 16 days ago and I just wondered how long it would take for the drug to clear my system totally

    Anybody know? [B)]

Wow! Thats brave. How are you getting on? I'm on citalopram and desperate to come off and was (vageuly) considering going cold turkey.
    Any thoughts/suggestions?

I would have thought it would be about 2-3 weeks of feeling worse before it starts to get better again.

It is not recommended to go cold turkey. You should be weaned off any medication as slowly as you are put on it by halving the dose etc. Your GP would be the best person to give you a plan to come off it.

^^^ I wouldnt advise going cold turkey particularly either, different people may react differently to it.............

I tried to counterbalance the bad side of things with some hard exercise, every time I felt bad I hit the gym, and took my mind of things there.......

Also, Tuna seemed to help (it's happy food )

I just hope some weight comes off as the Citalopram comes fully out of my system [8)]
