nausea and vomiting side effect of mirtazapine

Hi, Ive been on mirtazapine 15mg nearly 2 weeks and i upped to 30mg on monday, mornings have always been bad for me and i have always retched and gagged some mornings but since ive been on mirtazapine i wake uo feeling really nauseas and some mornings like this morning ive actually vomited, ive read the leaflet and it says nausea and vomiting is a common side effect?? did anyone else have this and does it pass? xx

Hi Nicola - sorry to hear you are experiencing this. It does surprise me though, because Mirtazapine has antiemetic properties. Although if it says that vomiting/naseau is a common side effect, then I would imagine that it will stop given time. I never experienced this myself.

Thanks Belle, i am known for retching in the mornings with my anxiety but never actually had the vomiting before i started the mirtazapine?? might pop into the chemist and have a word with the pharmacist xx
