Thread: I am not sure what is going on

    Hi Nicola

I just wanted to say if I have somehow contributed to your recent stress my apologies. There's already so much good advice listed in this thread that I can't think of anything to add. But like all others I would like to thank you for giving us all so much. Now it's time for us to give back! I truly hope you feel better soon (or rather right now)!

    Dear Nicola,

I'm sorry to hear you're having a rough time. I know you said you want help, not sympathy, but I even though I have no answers for you, I still wanted to post a good word because of all you and this site have done for me. I will hold you in my prayers, and know that you will soon begin to feel light and happy again.

    Warmest regards,

    Lilith

hi nic...read an article in lancet,a few days ago...it said about the seasons, for instance,i come alive this time of year, and how i incubate myself,in autumn, its so true.

but it also said,if we feel a bit down, and we look around at people ,who are happy,it makes us feel more depressed..dont know if that makes sense!

    theres 24hrs in a day..work eight(or more)..socialise eight(or less)..sleep eight(or in your case,much less),and you have the recipe for depression.

my friend,your..quality time..is very low,you need time out for nicola,as you have said, you have great moderators..use them..forget NMP for a few weeks, pamper yourself, buy some clothes, makeup,go back to basics, learn to relax,go to that great pub,and have a lovely meal, without thinking of the washing up,you have a great guy in alex, learn to lean on him,he wont mind, hes one in a million!

relax my friend, love from bryan xxx.

hi nic, so sorry to hear you are down. we are all here for you like you for us. You do need time for your self. Your probably doing too much. What do you do in job? do you exercise as i find this helps which you probably know any way. Have you been to doctors about it? You will get better, you have come along way. Panic attacks wont come back unless you let them. I had panicky thought last night, first in while, had bad headache which i think was a migraine, then felt sick, i thought what if its something serious, i then thought hope i dont have panic attack beecause of this, i didnt!! so it proves it doesnt always come back. I managed to take two paracetomels too, i was told by pharmisist i could take with effexor but was still scared incase.I think tiredness is defineatly playing a part in this, also just an thought, could it be hormonal? i get extra weepy and panicky before a period and this aggravates everything. hope ive helped a bit, take care, thinking of you, you have a lot to be proud of yourself for, love april

    Hi Nic

Have just read your post. Sorry you are feeling so down - you have been given lots of good advice here, I think pampering yourself and doing things that make you feel good is really important.

I hope you come back in the chat room soon, I haven't been in much as have been revising but I will try and pop in tonight so we can chat if you are around.

By the way have you heard about the new sleeping tablet that will be licenced soon, cant remember the name now but read in the paper - it is apparently really effective and NO side effects or addiction! Sounds great for sufferers like you, I know how bad no sleep can make you feel.

Anyway, back to the grindstone now - i hope you are feeling a bit better

    Lot of love

    Emily

Is any of this pure frustration and feeling let down by colleagues.

Most anxiety stricken people are clever, sensitive, creative and have extremely high standards both at home and at work and can often be driven to tears and emotion by not being able to keep those standards up due to short staffing, cutbacks, being rushed, confrontations and tension etc.

Or(by someone we both spoke to on the phone )- trying hard to help someone who doesn't tell the whole story and actually is not open to the advice we're trying to offer which we know would have helped and in fact chose to do exactly the opposite.
    Meg

This hits the nail on the head. I am very frustrated at work cos they just don't seem to care and I am a perfectionist so I find it hard that they just don't care! It does't help that Nick is off sick still - will be 12 weeks - and he is the one that gave me so much grief when I was off sick. He is taking the p*** now with the time off but no-one can do anything cos he just goes to the docs and gets signed off again. To all that don't know the situation with Nick - he has a football injury and is quite capable of working from home but refuses to.

I find it hard to motivate the other guy I work with cos he is up and leaving to go to Aussie soon so is biding his time at Britannia.

My boss can't seem to get them motivated or interested either so it is a lost cause.

I wish I could be like them and not care if the work doesn't get done but I can't.

I wish I could just go off sick for a week but that is not like me and I think that you know I would not do it.

Anyway - let's see what this week brings.

Thanks for the support Meg - you know I appreciate it.
    xx
