generic meds vs brand

Has anyone had experience with generic medication issues such as not being as effective or not working as well as the original product? I ask this as I was prescribed olanzapine and received the generic one and have had an issue with heart rate increasing after taking it and my doctor suggested trying the branded zyprexa in case it was something to do with the ingredients?

very interesting thread Pipkin, seems my doctor has her own suspicions anyway and going by others experience she might be on to something, at least she wasn't going by the cost of the med but by the actual benefit of having the real thing. thanks for that
