Scared in case it's not IBS

I can relate to these symptoms, especially weird poos.

My Dr has said I have IBS as I complained about more wind than usual and gurgly stomach. I also get knotting sensations when I need to go to the toilet. One morning I woke up with a bit of an upset stomach and had diarrhoea. I only went to the toilet twice with it and just lasted the day but since then I've not been going to the toilet much, and when I do go its a bit of a stuggle to go and is usually softish. I'd say I go once every 2/3 days at the minute. Before this, I was going every morning or every other.

Is this typical of IBS?

I have piles which bleed often, and pain near the tailbone and its sometimes hurts when I initially sit down...not sure it that is the piles or the tailbone or inside the rectum....If I sqeeve I can feel it! I have been having really bad tummy pains at the moment too, after a cold, but have not had IBS before.... could it be IBS or a tummy virus? Trying some probiotic drinks (Yakult) and taking anti acid liquid which is helping a bit.

I think you need to see a doctor if you're worried - impossible to diagnose on here sorry! I definitely don't think there's anything to be scared about though. We get tummy pains for all sorts of reasons and often for no reason at all. Keep eating adn well and taking your probiotics and reminding yourself that you are doing loads of healthy things to help yourself.

Also, in response to the original poster. I have a lot of these symptoms also, but I haven't had a baby. I have had so much trouble trying to get doctors to take it seriously. I have blood, which they "think" is piles, but they don't know, and have had it for about 6 years. I also get terrible pains in my upper abdomen, though haven't had those for a while. My stool looks weird and smells really gross. I also have severe fatigue and an achey back. I have had a gastroscopy in teh past, whihc revealed nothing, but I really need a colonoscopy to rule out anything serious in my bowel. My doctor has finally agreed to refer me to a specialist, so fingers crossed I can get some answers.
