Anxiety the internal bully?

Does anybody agree that anxiety is just an internal bully?

I know lots of therapists believe depression is aggression turned inwards. So I really feel that anxiety is just an internal bully. Saying things and making you think things to upset you.

When I think of it as an internal bully it does relieve my anxiety a little.

Just wondered what anyone else thinks.

Totally agree, GT. My anxiety bullies me constantly.....like two voices inside my head...the voice of reason is me and the anxiety is constantly battling that reason if that makes sense. We are told that we alone have the power to stop anxiety in it's tracks, yet it continues to bully us until we allow it to take over. It can be so draining. An interesting thought. Kitti

Yes it is like a bully and when we tackle it it's like we're taking control back and fighting back like in a fist fight where we try to eventually win, we're aiming for a knockout but just getting it to slink away for awhile is enough in the beginning.
