any one get told they are too quite or very quite

i was at a party last night and near end of the night the loudest guy at party said i was too quite in front of every 1. It kind of annoyed me he pointed that out as i no i am quite as i have social anxiety and find it very hard to speak up in front of other expecially people i dont no. I now feel like a fool the next day thinking back and that my personality is rubbish. I feel like hiding away from all social situations now. Has anyone else had this?

hi i get told this its so annoying we know were quiet we dont need to be told by others it really gets on my nerves and it does make you question your personality but we know how to have fun we just dont need to be a bigmouth to have fun

Ive had that before...had to bite my lip from saying "I only speak when I have something interesting to say, clearly you dont have that problem"

I too am like you and others here, I'm quite a shy person by nature anyway and having anxiety makes it a lot worse. I've been told many times that I'm quiet but I don't let it bother me anymore because I'd rather be that than someone whos's loud and annoying, I also hate being at the centre of attention and if you're a loud type of person you're more than likely going to be picked to lead on all those party games and so on.... There is a pressure to continue to maintain this especially if it's not how you'd naturally act.

Don't let them bother you, we are who we are and there's nothing wrong with it.

Being a quiet person is not a bad thing. Actually quiet people are probably the most kind hearted people there are. Do not let anyone down you because you're quiet.

Quiet people are unlikely to gossip or brag, be pushy or demanding, hostile or overbearing or overly aggressive. I also think we tend to make loyal friendships we work harder at keeping a relationship. We often appear more deep and thoughtful, more discreet and unassuming. In addition, quiet people are often perceived as being better listeners, as more understanding and as more trustworthy. We don't dominate conversations, aren't constantly talking about ourselves. So as you can see, we have many, many fine qualities and very few off-putting ones.
