Here's a riddle we did at work recently: "What happens if you throw a yellow rock into a purple stream?"

I've gone around the block abit thinking about an answer to this one but then of course I realise its likely to be a very simple answer. Does the yellow rock just sink in the stream? I hope I'm correct in not giving an elaborate answer haha!

Well, you're right in that the answer is a lot more simple than many people would assume. The colours of the rock and the stream are total red herrings. The answer is simply "it makes a splash!" This really tricked me because I was trying to come up with all sorts of scientific theories about the colours of the rock and the stream!
