    cold turkey

    Hi am coming off Citilopram 40mg after nearly 2 years, am going cold turkey and feeling like crap, heads swimmming, anxiety is terrible. How long will it last? Harrifam

    Why have you stopped so suddenly?

    There is no answer to this really - it could be a few weeks or could be longer

    You shouldn't go cold turkey, especially on a high dose. You should reduce 10mg at a time over a period of 6-8 weeks. Why did you stop?

    You could be feeling crap for some time yet - it's hard to pinpoint an exact timescale for withdrawals.

    I would not do that with any Antidepressant, it would be better to go on the advice of your GP.

    why !!! please get some advice and reduce slowly, i too have come off cit twice, and it needs to be done slowly and under supervision from your gp.

    dont put yourself through this you dont have too take care xx
