Worried about mirtazapin

Hi I'm new here and have battled with depression since 2009 when an accident at work changed my life forever aged 33. I have been given various anti deps but I'm now on 45mg mitrazapine but still struggle to stop the dark cloud coming in. Does anyone have any advice.

Some of us have found mirtazapine works well in combination with venlaxafine and a very small dose of one or another antipsychotic that works off-label for depression as well.

Hi Jimmyskin,

I agree that if mirtazapine alone is not doing the trick of conquering depression, it can be combined with another medication. There are several available - you have to find the one that is right for you.

I take Mirt along with Venlafaxine,they've both worked well for depression for me,but it took an add on of a small amount of Olanzapine (5ml) to really kick the anxiety in the butt.
