I wonder what the residents of Spanker Knob are called? If you are a lorry driver from there do they call you a "trucking tanker"?

Perhaps the early settlers had a good sense of humour? Or they named them after looking at the locals.

I worked for a mobile phone company many years ago and the sales admin people used to alter people's names for a laugh knowing we poor sods in the call centre would get the angry customer. I can remember speaking to Mr Shirtliff who had been entered as Mr Shirtlift There was one called Mr Kok Dik that was entered Mr Dik Kok (maybe wrong spelling but that's how it sounded).

I don't think I'll ever forget the guy who sent in his appointment letter for his vasectomy as a proof of ID either
