weight gain on meds?????

HI COULD SOMEONE LET ME KNOW IF THEY HAVE GAINED WEIGHT ON THERE CIPRALEX??? i HAVE GAINED 2 STONE IN THE 2 YEARS IVE BEEN ON THEM AND ITS MAKING ME UNHAPPY ...

Yes, I have gained weight. Partly probably because I am less anxious and anxiety helps me loose weight (only good thing about anxiety) but definitely partly due to citalopram. Don't have an easy remedy for this but for me I know the citalopram is helping and I am just hoping that when I am ready to stop taking it, I will be able to loose some of the weight. Hope it helps to know you are not the only one! J x

I didn't gain on Cipralex but I only took it for less than a year. I have heard a lot of people say that they cause weight gain as a side effect.
