Close curtains, blinds and put music on. My mum started this phobia off for me as she used to panic terribly. I always get into the centre of the house where i feel the safest. Or just get yourself into bed under the duvet,
just remember you are perfectly safe at home,

    Hi Sassy
Maybe listen to calming music via Walkman?
Distraction could do the trick ..... you'll be safe at home[^]

Do you suffer from the heat?

If yopu do, train your mind to think that thunderstorms will make you feel better in the cooler air

I don't really like thunderstorms either, they scare me a bit. Just try and remain calm and perhaps ring a friend to chat to?

    Hi sassy,

Your not on your own. I hate thunderstorms.
Theyve forcast them for tonight and my hubbys on a late shift til after 12.
I either go in the laudry room and close the blind or under the stairs.
My fear began years ago when lightening struck 2 houses across from where i lived.
I tend to do what scoobys recommended. But you cant do that at midnight. So im praying my hubby will be in if and when they start.

    Take care
    LYNN
