Amitryptiline for pain

Ive started taking this 5 days ago at 30mg per night for pain. How long does it take to build up and start to work? Also I've noticed bad tinnitus - is this normal/side effect and will it improve ? Has anyone found it useful for pain/depression?

I took these for Pain and it worked straight away ..Unfortunately I couldnt tolerate them, as they gave me terriblle headaches that wouldnt go away .They are effective for Depression for many people .But as I didnt take them for that cant say from a personal experience ..Most a/d ,s take a few weeks to kick in 4-6 .Hope they help ..Sue x
