sertraline...splitting dose...

Does anyone know if you can split 50mg sertraline into 4?? i know you can halve it but not sure it works the same if you split into 4...has anyone else done this??? Thanks Kerry

What dose are you on at the minute ? do you mean to split into 4 take it 4 times a day or 1 part of the 4 pieces a day?

thanks for replying...i havnt started yet but when i did before years ago i got terrible side effects..so i thought should i start on a real low dose and gradually build up...so can i take a quarter of a 50mg tablet??? once a day for a few days to just ease myself into it???

have you spoke to doctor about it they could start you of lower dose like me and then slowly move you up a dose

what dose did you start on??...my dr said to start on 50mg but i was scared so he said you can take half if you want...i am still scared...so i wondered if you can split a 50mg tablet into 4 or can you only split them in half??

25mg I started taking half the side effects lasted about just over a week then things should settle down just them getting use to body system

so you started on 25mg or half of that?? how long have you been on them? were the side effects bad??

they give me 50mg but I half them I was to scared to take the full dose, I means on them for about 7 months now and the side effects was bad start of with then they slowly started to ease and go. I am now on 100mg

Hi Guys
Hope you dont mind me jumping in but im at my wits end. I have upped from 50mg to 75 nearly 2 weeks ago, then 100mg this mon im suffering with all the dark thought again and scared to death is this normal when increasing?? I was took of Citalopram after 4 months due to thoughts and told this med is better for that.
Please advice
