Stopping a day after starting Propranolol

Hi,

I started yesterday and took 2 x 10mg for my anxiety. Today I have taken one but really do not want to keep taking them. I want to stop before i really start as I do not think it will help my current symptoms. The leaflet has scared me but surely stopping on 10mg cannot kill you as it it the lowest dose and surely people come of it?

Hi, I was given 40mg Propanolol tablets and have taken as needed, sometimes 120mg a day and sometimes none - with no ill effects at all. So stopping the 10mg dose will cause you no problems at all.

I took one tablet about 6 years ago, and hated that it made me drowsy, so I never took anymore and threw them away. I didn't have any problems stopping so suddenly, especially as I had only take the 1 tablet.

Thank you so much both of you. I was going to call the NHS helpline as really do not want to go back to the doctors but this has helped. I think they put that there for people that have heart problems and high blood pressure etc?

Yes, I'm sure they have to try to cover all eventualities in the documentation
