The negative thoughts/words always come to me quicker than the positive ones, too. In the same situation as you I probably would have started by saying cowardly, selfish and failure.

Since you posed the question though, I have come up with positives including: intelligent, tenacious, and loyal.

oh gosh, i remember this kind of exercise from an interview type environment but they asked for three words a friend/family member would use to describe me (and was easy for me to think of negative words even then!)

I guess three positive words to describe me would be: thoughtful, courageous and compassionate
