Venlafaxine day 1-I did it!!

I have taken the plunge and started my ven this morning

Lots of pre-tablet anxiety and pacing so I took my 5mg diaz about 40 mins before the ven.

I know I am going to be 'looking' for SE's all day so I need to try and keep busy. I am already anxious so I'll just tell it to go away and leave me alone today

The most important thing - DONT WORRY!
I was on Venlafaxine for about 7 years, it worked wonders for me.

Initially you may have some side effects, but dont worry - they will soon go.
Its not an easy drug to start or finish (none are), but (in my case, and lots of others) it worked wonders.
For those 7 years i suffered from no anxiety and my depression was greatly reduced.

Congrats on taking your first tablet! I know how scared and anxious you must have felt because I was exactly the same last night and this morning, but somehow I managed to start taking this medication anyway. So, initially a little shaky, then a happy euphoric trip for about 5 hours, wow, that was strange! Then palps, big time....very dry mouth...no appetite...a little dizzy and slightly uncoordinated. Anxiety up a bit but very tired.

All fairly manageable so far and better than my previous experiences of anti d's so far....I know it's early days, but I am going to stay as positive as I can

I know its easy for me to say it, but try not to think about it too much.
Take the pill and then just get on with your day. Its very easy to think too much about and suffer symptoms of anxiety rather than from the meds.

Take it easy, you will be fine.

I am trying hard not to link every little thought and physical feeling to the Ven. I will take your advice and I know it will be ups & downs, I am prepared for that
