    Sertraline and the shakes

Does anyone get this as a side effect? A trembling feeling and the odd jerky movement...

I did for the first two weeks or so, it has dropped off with shaking when I first get up but this wears off a lot quick now

Thanks Merlotsmums, it's great to hear that. Was getting worried that it might get worse and people would notice..

Hiya. I sometimes get a kind of internal shaking, if that makes sense. Like I'm all jittery on the inside. I also had a bit of shaking at first but that's stopped now.

HI, I too have recently started on sertraline 50mg and am on week 4 now. I'm still having side effects suchs as feeling shaky, twitching occasionally, fizzy headed, tired and anxious. I know from previously being on citalopram that it can take a while for things to settle. My doctor told me to persevere for 6-8 weeks. Good luck

Just done my 1st week on 100mg, previous to that 3 and half weeks on 50mg.

Had good few days, today I am exhausted and shaky :(

Looking forward to the meds kicking in and stablising.

Just done my first week on 100mg too.....feeling soo detached and spaced out. But I guess that could be because I was only on 50mg for a week before upping to 100mg. I haven't really got used to them at all.

Wish I could fast forward a few weeks; modern life doesn't allow us time for meds to start working

I agree Lissa101 with the horrid spaced out and detached, it is crap, I just about felt I was OK on the 50mg before I increased, now I feel I have another good few weeks to feel that way again :( The Doc wants me up on 150mg by end of month, going to ask if I can hold off as want to feel the good effects of the drug, not constantly waiting for the side effects to go.

Yes, modern life doesn't allow for meds to settle

    Take care

    Re: Sertraline and the shakes

I had them for ages, started when I was on Prozac for 8 weeks then continued on Sert. Was really freakin me out because I started to feel the twitching starting on my face. I even thought I had MS. And then....they just faded away. Annoying but harmless.

Hope you start to see some results soon
