    Stayed the whole hour!

    Hi everyone,

I've been working with my OT and home support worker for some time, and one of the goals we've been working towards is getting me to the clinic so I can start councelling.

Today was my first appointment with the therapist. She was nice and I found her easy to talk to.

I've been scared everytime I thought of it this weekend and was so nervous this morning, but I did it! They said to me if I couldn't manage the whole hour, I could leave early, but I did manage it. I was so anxious beforehand but the anxiety went down. There were two separate moments where I did feel panic/anxiety rising, but I managed and carried on.

I never expected to stay the whole hour and this is the longest I've been out in a long time.

Heather, you must be feeling really pleased with yourself.

I know what you mean about panic nearly taking over (but it didnt),
the reason it didnt take over was because you were determined and concentrated on what your therapist was saying.

I think your world will now start to get bigger and better for you
