What are the side effects when starting sertraline

Hi All
I have previously posted regarding coming off citalopram on going on sertraline. I am on day 2 of sertraline and have still got my withdrawal symptoms of cit but now very loose bowels and a funny palpertation feeling in my chest!!
Is this something others have suffered ??????

Hi just logged on as l have just started Sertraline from coming off Cit my GP told me to completely come off Cit before starting Sert as the two drugs clash. l also have very loose bowels and the anxiety is sky high today having terrible panic all day, l have been a bit wary of starting another drug as it's hard to come off, so l will have to see how things go, has your anxiety increased

I have been on sert for just over 2 weeks, I get a but of an upset tummy too, nausea occasionally, but it's been manageable for me, I am feeling so much better already. X

I had 3 days of reduced cit and now 2 days of sert, I must say I feel mentally better !! my main worry is my "foggy" head and now feeling sick and bowels loose. I just wonder how long it will be till it settles. But sometimes it is hard to stay positive. I have had a sleep this afternoon and makes me feel better x x x

Next time I do this will be to come off them but at least we know what to expect x

My worst upset tummy prob lasted about 4 or 5 days. Hang in there, it will ease off. I find Andrews salts really help settle the nausea x

OMG these side iffects are worse than why I went on it.
- nausea
-aggitation
-highly stressed
-high anxiety
-crying
are these not what this is to help with x

So Side effects do actually calm down, its how and if the person can manage them. Any one got and coping stratogies? x x

After another increase in dose these side effects keep appearing !!!

I started on 25mg, then after a week went up to 50mg. After a few months upped the dose to 100mg. I have tried prozac and citalopram in past and sertraline was far more easier regarding side effects. I had insomnia for about 4 weeks which then settled, maybe a slight increase in anxiety for first week and maybe looser stools but OK now. Each dose change I didn't notice any side effects.
