long qt syndrome? & citalopram?

Does anybody else worry about this? Since I read that it can be caused by doses of citalopram 60mg, and people with long qt should not take citalopram at all it worried me. As obviously people would have it without knowing? I've never taken 60mg of citalopram but how would anybody know they had it?!

I know it usually runs in families but i'm still scared.

It's become my new obsession...

Has anybody asked for an ECG just to be safe?

Please don't worry hun

I was on 60mgs of citalopram for 5 years and I'm still here to tell the tale

All that happened was I was reduced straight down to 40mgs immediately.

I did have an ECG just to be on the safe side and I'm happy to say that my heart is fine

Remember hun, this was effecting some people but not all.

You honestly have nothing to worry about, as it was only causing problems for people on 60mgs which you can no longer have, the max now being 40mgs.

If you are still worried, go have a chat with your GP and have them check you out, but I'm sure you're fine hun

Thanks for your reply. I'm going to go and have a chat cause I did collapse once, and get dizzy quite often after exercise which has freaked me out abit after hearing about long qt!

Hopefully it's fine though and just my anxiety/being unfit! that has caused those problems
