    CAT scan / brain scan

    Hi

Is a cat scan enough to show a brain tumour or do I need an mri?

I had a cat scan in April as have been having same right sided headache for over a year but last few weeks it has got worse and comes with nausea.

    Cat scan was normal

Saw a neurologist the other day and hes happy its chronic daily headache or a form of migraine.

I'm worried they have missed something

    Any advice please x

Re: CAT scan / brain scan

Not too sure about CAT scan vs MRI for diagnosing a brain tumour. I had a MRI without contrast last month which came back clear. As I still have the symptoms am now convinced I should of had it with contrast and they may have missed something. I checked with GP who said it would have shown up without the contrast. Ask your GP, specialist etc if you are worried just to confirm things.
