hospital appointment scared :/

hi, ive got a hospital appointment with the dermotologist this afternoon and im bricking it, i hate going anywhere where i cant see the exits :( the hospital is like a maze any tips on how to manage my anxiety when i get there would be greatly apprecated

I felt the same - about the hospital being a maze - when my Dad was in there in September, and I was terrified to visit him. I went onto the local PCT website and looked up a map of the hospital before I went, so that I knew where the nearest exits were to where I was going, and how to get to them. That helped a bit.

thanks elle, thing is im anxious while im waiting to go in to see dermo, i dont know how to stop this lol

Susan, before I went to my last appointment at hospital, I contacted my consultants secretary on the phone to tell her I suffered from anxiety and panic attacks. She informed reception and as soon as I got to reception they called a nurse straight away and took me to a private room to wait my turn and I am sure that was also speeded up also.

Take something to do. I was there this week and had to wait an hour so I took my Nintendo DS and played on that.
