    copper coil

My daughter went to have a copper coil fitted tonight as she is unable to take the pill any longer. It was very painful for her and in the end they gave up fitting it and said she will need it fitted under general anaesthetic. She is now bleeding quite heavily. has anyone else had this happen to them. She has no children yet so I guess this is why they had so much difficulty trying to fit it. She is in a lot of pain now tonight and of course this has set me of worrying.

    Re: copper coil

A friend of mine had the opposite a few years ago - she went to have the coil removed, and after trying at the surgery they couldn't do it so she had to go to the hospital. I remember that she was quite shaken afterwards (she is usually unflappable, so this stuck in my mind), and in pain, but it did ease off and she got over it. There was also no lasting "damage" as she had her lovely little boy 21 months ago

My poor daughter is so distressed tonight. I am very pleased that it didn't cause any damage to your friend. She has taken painkillers so I hope the pain eases so she can get some sleep.

I'm sure you already have (being a good mum ), but tell her to pop a warm hot water bottle in a towel/cosy on her tummy to help relax those muscles, or have a warm bath if she can bear to. I hope she feels better in the morning x

Annie I do not know anything about them, but I wanted to wish your daughter well, and I'm sending you a hug, because I know you are worrying.
