There is no definite answer. Only time will tell. All you can do is stick with it. I have tried a range of different medications. I am currently on 40mg citalopram daily. I was on 60 mg in summer but that's not allowed anymore. It's all about finding what's right for you. Some side effects are rough and to be expected but they pass. If in any doubt doctors are always on hand.
Hi Dee.
The dosage you are on is a very low dose at the moment, so try not to be too concerned. If you are really worried, you can ask your doctor if you can increase your dosage by halves, so splitting the tablet in half (providing you've been given 10mg tablets rather than 20mg).
There are side effects; some people experience none (I had no side effects at all with citalopram and thought it was wonderful) and other experience some. I know its tough but try and ride them out.
Missybct, how long before you felt better? X
Dee, I have just replied to your PM. x
I found it helped me, my doctor said that 20mg is the lowest therapeutic dose, but you shouldn't do it without your GP's say so.
