Just started sertraline - side effects please help

    Hello
Last night I took my first 50mg of sertraline and i slept terribly woke up in a cold sweat shaking and clenching jaw and headache. My head has since been fuzzy slow and tingling. I feel like I can't understand things and when I try to my head tingles. What is this???? Please let me know if any of you have had this I don't want to take it again

Hi, try not to focus on it, I am taking sertraline and it settles very quick, really only a few days so hang in there and don't be scared of it. What dose are you on and what time of day are you taking it x

Thank you for your reply. What kind of side effects did you get in the first few days? It's just the confusion and anything to do with my head i don't like. I'm on 50mg and I have been told to take them before got to bed. X

I started on 50 too. I think the initial se I found were not sleeping properly, kept waking up feeling panicky, sweating a bit, jaw clenching, a bit fidgety, but it did settle within a few days for me. I took them at bedtime to start off with but I found now I take them about 3pm I am more relaxed at bedtime and sleep better. Hang in there. Also a bit of stomach discomfort x

I know it's scary when you start taking them, I think our minds make the process worse, it really will get easier, I felt so much better after about 4 days I really did, and now I am like a different person, they have gave me my life back and are worth the initial se without a doubt. Xx

It's normal to feel worse before you get better. Keep going and you should start to feel better over the next few days/weeks.
