I work in IT and I'm currently working on a very important, high profile project which has to be completed by the end of the year. As my Christmas holidays begin on the 21st of December, this basically means I have less than 2 weeks to finish it. The project consists of 4 major parts and I've almost completed 2 of them, but on both of them I've reached a sticking point.
This is my dream job and I got it in July this year, but the learning curve has been pretty steep. Sometimes things just don't work the way I think they will. On Friday evening, one of the systems was in a bit of a mess but I didn't have time to sort it out before I left. So now I'll have to fix it when I go back to work first thing tomorrow morning and I'm dreading it a bit. I just hope I will be able to fix it so that I can get on with my work.
My manager was on holiday last week but he'll be back again tomorrow. I hope he won't be disappointed that I haven't made quite as much progress as I would've hoped.
I was lying in bed watching the X Factor earlier and I could feel my mind wandering to work-related issues and I could feel the tension rising. I just hope I'll be able to get this project done in time for Christmas as I hate to let anyone down.
Anyone got any advice, or even just some hugs to cheer me up?
