Backpain related to my IBS? :(

Hello everyone I just feel really anxious at the moment because since yesterday I've had bad back pain..I think it's IBS but i'm also petrified it's my kidney considering I only have one. It's only the left side also my stomach on the left side hurts to which I know is definitely IBS so that isn't worrying me it just really hurts it's the middle of my back and sometimes the pain radiates a little higher. I've had this before and it went off and last time I wasn't as anxious and just thought that's what it was but now I've got into my head that it's some deadly kidney infection or something even though i'm having no problems going for a wee also the pain is also on my side..(ribs) my mum thinks it is my IBS because I haven't been for a couple of days.. also if I touch it it's pretty sore...can any one else relate? :/

Hi, I speak to a lot of people with IBS who also describe back pain. It sounds like it might be "referred pain", when pain in one area of the body feels like it's coming from somewhere else. I believe heartburn is referred pain - it's actually in your digestive tract but it appears to be coming from the heart area.
