Unexplained bowel worries

This might be tmi for some as bowels are mentioned be warned!


Just went to the loo and found light brown stuff in knickers . Haven't done a bm today but I checked were it was from and it was one from my bottom I wiped and its gone now but worried as it got all over my knickers and around the 'other' area I'm worried it got their which isn't good for you at all.
I don't know how the poo got on bum though as haven't been for bm today and not been trying to hold one in so but worried about that. However my bum does feel sore but I thought I had wiped to harshly last time

TMI here also probably, look away now if you're faint of heart.

I had IBS when I was 23, had it badly for over a year. Symptoms included anal discharge. It was usually clear (as it's actually mucus) but could of course be light brown, it coming from the bowel.

Yeah I had to have a barium enema and x-ray to diagnose mine (better than the barium meal I saw some poor kid trying to gulp down ).

Might be worth a trip to your Doc. IBS is pretty common with anxiety AFAIK.

Unfortunately I had to drink Fibogel and eat All Bran to help "firm things up" and get the bowel working correctly again.

So if it is IBS, there are lots of treatment options - I certainly have only had the odd very minor flare-up since.

Hi! i have ibs and the whole mucus thing! its not nice at all. (due to anxiety) And the mucus can appear and you dont feel it just see it when you go to the loo! visit the gp there are lots of tips they can give on how to help xx

Maybe last time you didn't wipe too good?
Or maybe you passed gas and a bit of poo cane out.
