Hi, ive been taking effexor now for a total of 9 weeks and 3 days. (10days 75mg)-(5weeks 150mg)-(3weeks-225mg), for depression and social anxiety.
Before this i was on citalopram a total of 8weeks both 20mg and 40mg and had no effect.
Over the 9 weeks on effexor this is what it has improved.
-ENERGY
-FEELINGS OF HOPELESSNESS
-THOUGHTS OF SUICIDE
-FEELINGS OF HELPLESSNESS
-SLIGHT LIFT IN MOOD
-FEELINGS OF DREAD AND ANXIETY AFTER WAKING UP
-STOPPED CRYING
-LESS FRUSTRATED
-MORE CALM
Things that are still causing me problems.
-DIFFICULTY FALLING ASLEEP
-DIFFICULTY STAYING ASLEEP
-NO WILL TO WANT TO SOCIALIZE
-NO PLEASURE IN SOCIALIZING
-FEELING ANXIOUS AROUND FRIENDS, FAMILY, STRANGERS
-LACK OF EMOTION, i.e SMILING, ''BLUNT FACIAL EXPRESSION''
-FEELING QUITE DETACHED FROM EVERYTHING/EVERYONE
-LACK OF CONFIDENCE/SELF ESTEEM
-POOR MEMORY
-CONCENTRATION
-LOSS OF APPETITE
-FEELING THAT NOTHING REALLY MATTERS, OR NO POINT TO ANYTHING
What im wanting to know is, i know it usually takes 6-8 weeks for full therapeutic dose to kick in, and ive been on it 9 weeks with some benefit, will these other things start to improve with time on the anti-depressant at this dose ''225mg'' or would i maybe benefit from increasing the dose, adding something else to it or changing the antidepressant again altogether?
Ive tried, welldorm, temazepam, and zopliclone for sleep and none have helped. Ive also been giving diazepam to take for agitation when needed.
Im working with a CPN who i dont see again untill 2nd january, and im being seen again by a pchyciatrist mid january to see how im getting on with meds,
What do you guys think, im quite unsure as to if this is normal progress after this amount of time, or what i should do?
