please could you help IBS

please could anyone let me know how long these symptoms could as i have them very bad last 3 weeks pain in stomach bloating after eating e.c.t it now geting to me very depression feeling lost know one understands not even my doctor please help very upset tonight

im having a bad bout of ibs.. it can last for weeks then subside again.
you need to watch what you eat etc, i also find caffine irratates mine.
it can make you feel really ill i know that but its just all part of it.
have you tried taking anything for it

My symptoms last for a months at a time sometimes. Bloating, nausea, pain. Orange juice and fruit are my main triggers.
I have had symptoms daily for 2 months at present . I do take meds for mine but they do not always help.

Thank you for reply i am taking peppermint oil twice a day seeing the doctor monday but she is little help give me senna tablets as cannot go i think may have ibs been told by doctor you got to live with it if eat little i feel bloated and have some pain nighttime its at its worse its making me think all sorts of things be please can anyone give me some advice please as at night when in bed sleeping i am ok cannot understand

Like the others I suffer with IBS and have flare ups that can last for a couple of days or weeks, senna will help you go and are very gentle and I was told by the hospital to take that if you cannot go, also Buscopan are good and you can buy those at the Supermarket now as well as Boots, again was given those in hospital, the other thing that can help soothe is a hot water bottle on your tummy.

Hope this helps a bit, it does stop me from sleeping if it is bad.

thank you for all your help i feeling so bad at moment and scared as never had the before and my mind is working overtime its like have friends on you here always someone here to help
only had little fish and some toast to eat today not sure what i can eat or drink or take to help this

There is always someone to support you on this site shipmate. I am not an expert but bland, light foods are a good idea when IBS is particularly bad. Also someone recommended those probiotic drinks to me, so I also have one of those daily.

Hi i been taking amitriptyline 10mg at night last 2 days feel little better as anyone taken these if they think they have ibs have they been any better by taking these tablets can you come off these ok
