    Exclamation please give me some advice on this ,changing ssri's,HELP!

    hello guys,
    please help me on this as im getting worried keep thinking.
    ok i was on citalopram 20mg for three years,its stopped working so the doc changed me to 5mg escitalopram.
    i stopped the citalopram right away,and started the escitalopram right away.
    my question is,do u think il get withdrawel effects from the citalopram as i just swapped them over?im just worried about this?i know they are very similar drugs,but am still worried...its day three of me being on escitalopram....PLEASE POST ME UR ADVICE OR HELP.

    Hi Kate,
    I've gone straight from one med to the next and, in my opinion, this is the best way to do it as in my experience it minimises side effects. As you are already on day 3 I would say that it should be plain sailing. All the best.
