    Hello guys,

I've been reading your thread, it's been 6 days now that I increased my dose from 20mg fluoxetine to 40mg, I feel so bad, down, blue, fearful and unable to do anything, I feel detached and in my own world, sometimes feeling very anxious with hot sensation and sick-like feelings. Are these side effects? I am considering of cutting back to 20mg because I feel exhausted but my GP said I might have become tolerant to 20mg but I feel crappy what do you think?

I started off on 10 mg, then to 20mg after a few weeks. After about 8 weeks, I felt that I needed a little more help. My doc increased my dose to 40mg. The side affects seem to last a bit longer than when I had first began taking the med. I think all in all, it took about 5-8 weeks before I didn't consciously remember that I was taking something. Plus I felt calm. I was having difficulty sleeping for a few months, but recently have stopped needing to take something to help sleep. I would just say, stick with it. If after 8-12 weeks, you feel like you need to increase your dose, ask your doc. I never thought I would be taking anything like this, much less suffer from depression. I'm glad to know there is help!
