25mg Dosulepin, placebo affect?

My GP last night said ideally he would like me on 50mg of Dosulepin, I am currently on 25mg and have been for 3 weeks. He said 50 would be more therapeutic so he wants to see me in 4 weeks then we will up the dose, but in the mean time if I feel ready I can up it myself. The thing is I am shattered every morning, I take my meds at 9pm but he said it is too late and to try at about 7.30, the thing is I will be very tired early on if I do that, arghhh I can't win.

He said 25mg even though I think my anxiety has got so much better, is probably just a placebo affect, but then he said as I am only teeny tiny it could be that it is helping. Do you think 25mg can help? I am on Dosulepin for anxiety and mild depression caused by agoraphobia/social anxiety.

I sometimes take mine earlier on an evening if I am feeling very anxious but they don't make me feel more tired. No matter what time on an evening I take them I still feel a bit drowsy on a morning so I don't know if it is the tablets or just a morning thing for me. I have never been a morning person The size of a person does have an effect on medication doses. I would contact your doctor again if you think you are ready to up the dose just so that he knows and can make the adjustment on the prescription x
