anybody know anything about cars?

I have an 08 hyundai elantra, manual transmission. Over the weekend I had an oil change done and radiator coolant/anti-freeze service done at the mechanics suggestion.

Since then the heat only blows warm air when I accelerate. It blows cold air when idling, breaking, etc. What could this be?

I would take it back as they have obviously not done it right.

I took my car to the garage as there was a problem with the motor on the water pump thing (I have no idea what this is actually called!!) when I got my car back the button to press for water to the front windscreen caused water to go the the back windscreen and the button to get water to go to the back windscreen caused water to go to the front windscreen!! It went straight back to the garage and they didn't charge me to fix their mistake-they had connected the pipes back to front ( I assume it was pipes!)

There's a saying; 'If you want a job done properly, do it yourself' , of course this is'nt always possible as most of us dont have the knowhow or specialist tools required so sadly most of us are at the mercy of some of these muppets calling themselves 'mechanics' who charge extortionate labour costs.

Hi there if they changed the coolant then it sounds like you have an airlock in the system they will have to bleed it to sort it out.

Hi all, thanks for your input. I took it back to the shop, and they said there was a bubble in the fluid .... came to the top, and caused the levels to be lower than they should. They added more fluid and sorted it out.

No charge either

Yeah, the coolant can usually wait a month or two. Add coolant if low. Best to do coolant flushing spring or fall. Take care.
