Thanks for the replies guys! I have bought some peppermint tea to drink in the evenings or if I feel that my cramps are going to crop up. I don't like regular tea though and have never tried peppermint so hopefully I will like it!

The Mugwort worked really well actually!! It helped me get to sleep and I slept like a baby! Also had some really vivid dreams too though, but I normally dream a lot anyways! I won't be trying St. John's Wort, as I have heard about many side effects and don't want to risk it. Still can't really pin it on any foods at the moment. It's hard because I am living the life of a backpacker so what I eat is really limited right now! But hopefully that will make it easier to figure out what the trigger is as my meals are not that varied.
